September zoomed by and here we are in the fall color season.It opened with the BCU show which many of you participated in and closed with a tour of Frank's Classic cars and an exciting night at the Sycamore Speedway.Missing Frank's was probably of benefit to my checkbook but wish I had been able to make the Speedway.Instead I was off touring up the Mississippi starting on the Iowa/Minnesota side and returning on the Wisconsin side.There's a future IJC tour in there for sure.Then last weekend in NE Wisconsin for what was the best peak color in years.
Speaking of fall colors.Please join us for our "Presidents and Architects" Fall Drive to Springfield.It's October 14-16 andregistration closes this Sunday!Fall colors, history, and good food will entertain us as we wander along the Illinois.Sign up is available now for the two and optional three day event.Presidents and Architects Registration The hotel block has closed but the hotel still has rooms.
On October 29 we are going to visit the Fox River Trolley Museum with lunch at the Filling Station.Register
We are going to try something different for the Holiday Party this year-holding it before all you snowbirds escape!Mark your calendars for a December 3 party at Balmoral you don't want to miss it.Details/Registration

Fall is the best driving season so as always-get out and drive!

Oct. 14-16
Join the IJC as we follow the Illinois River on a fall color drive.We will enjoy a picnic lunch (pack your own or stop at a nearby deli) and then continue on to Springfield to visit the Lincoln Home.From there it's the hotel and a fine dinner.

On Sunday we will visit the Lincoln Presidential Museum and the Dana-Thomas house.The tours will wrap up around 4:30 and then you can head home or stay for dinner with the club and tour other Springfield area attractions on Monday before heading home.
Trolley
Oct. 29
We will drive to the Fox River Trolley Museum in South Elgin to tour the museum and maybe take a trolley ride.Then on to The Filling Station for lunch.
Daria BCU
We had a fine turnout for the Chicago British Car Festival with Daria and Tom Durham and Andrew and Eve Flor among the trophy recipients.This is the largest gathering of British Cars in the Chicago area and if you haven't attended you should really put it on your calendars for next year.
On September 30 we toured Frank's Classic Cars, had pizza, and attended the races at the Sycamore Speedway.Frank has an eclectic collection of classics for sale including an E type and an XK140.They are in a great display building that even has an old fashion diner.
The Speedway races were exciting with lots of slipping and sliding on the dirt track.
