Where did August go?It opened with the Heartland British Autofest in LeClaire, continued with the Whitworth Rally and closed with a great gathering of Jaguars at the Geneva Concours.It was great to see so many of you in Geneva.I hope you had as much fun as I did.
We just completed the Chicago British Car Festival.Unfortunately I could not make it but from Facebook it looks like the club had a nice turnout.If you happened to get some great pictures of the Jaguars and their drivers please share then with me. But the month is not over!Next we have a night at Sycamore Speedway for a little short track racing.This is going to be a great day as we start with a drive to Frank's Collector Cars, fortify ourselves with pizza and then head to the track.It's a low risk sign up as if weather cancels the racing we'll refund your registration. Plans have come together for our "Presidents and Architects" Fall Drive to Springfield.It's October 14-16.Fall colors, history, and good food will entertain us as we wander along the Illinois.Sign up is available now for the two and optional three day event.Presidents and Architects Registration
This month we welcome new members William and Audrey Serritella from Naperville, Devin and Jessica Barnas also from Naperville, and Marc and Rita Thurmon Moore from Montgomery.Be sure to give them a warm welcome when you meet them at an event soon.
We are going to try something different for the Holiday Party this year-holding it before all you snowbirds escape!Mark your calendars for a December 3 party at Balmoral you don't want to miss it.
Fall is the best driving season so as always-get out and drive!

We will start at a Classic Car showroom, stop for pizza, and then watch some short track racing excitement.
23 Geneva
It was a beautiful day for a Concours in Geneva.We had 11 club member cars on display in the club parking area.It was a fun opportunity to display the cars, talk with the 100's of spectators and recruit some new members.By chance I happened to learn from someone checking out my car that there is a Classic Restoration Education facility near Midway that trains disadvantaged young people in the skills needed to restore classic cars.Seems like a good opportunity for club involvement.
And the Geneva Concours was back in full strength with a great display of big American iron like Cadillacs and Lincolns contrasted by a gathering of micro cars.The crowd was enjoying the good weather and we were enjoying the attention the Jaguars received.There might also have been a break for pizza and a libation but we had to stay hydrated!If you missed this year be sure to put it on your calendar for 24.
