Welcome to our first issue of the Monthly Update.The club will use these updates to communicate news, new members, short stories about our last event and reminders about our next event.I hope this format keeps you more informed about what's happening with the club and encourages you to join us at an upcoming event.If you have suggestions on the format or content please respond to your humble webmaster.
So here we go.
We have just finished our first event of the year, mini golf at the PuttShack, see the story below.It's nearly the renewal deadline so if you're on the tardy list please renew soon.Our next event promises a feast, libations, and knights and damsels.
Welcome new members Dave and Diana Hauman.
Bloomington, IL
Dave became interested in European cars when he saw a Renault Dauphine in high school.He went on to MGs and Triumphs before purchasing a low mileage 1970 E-type in 2006.He has many Jaguar adventures including participating in the Great Race (while swapping batteries to keep up after a generator failure).It's an interesting story so ask him when you meet him.
Dave and Diana were also involved in running the Champagne British Auto Festival for many years.
February 25.Medieval Times
We will gather at Medieval Times for feast, drink, and medieval violence!
Our first event of 2023 was mini golf at the PuttShack in Oakbrook.There were 24 members participating in food, drinks, and socializing.And then there was mini golf!It was a unique competitive experience experience with I understand some foot wedges and other shenanigans.Ultimately Mark Havemann was the winner and took home a prize of a practice putting system.Seems like that should have gone to the worst score!
