I'm just back from sunny Alabama and Illinois greeted me with this yucky definitely not spring weather!I'm sure it won't be long and we will have the cats out to play.Hopefully that nice weather will show up for the All Sports Car Swap Meet on March 15 at the DuPage County Fairgrounds.I will be at the IJC table so stop by and say hi.
The weather has given me a chance to catch up on my Jaguar Journal reading.Incase you missed it, the January issue had a great article by IJC member Dave Hauman about his participation in The Great Race in his red E-type.It's worth going back and giving it a read. And the March issue has details of the International Jaguar Festival at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix.If you are considering participating in this event be sure to register and especially get your hotel rooms early.Word has it the event is filling up quickly.
As I discussed in my January Update the club is starting a monthly meeting and dinner get together. This is something that has been a member request for some time so we are kicking it off March 25 at Avanti Cafe'.This is a European walk up deli style cafe with an extensive menu and should be a great first gathering place.Be sure to RSVP on the website so we can plan spaceMonthly Dinner
After the kickoff dinner the season get's rolling in earnest with a visit to the Beller Museum on March 28.We have a special tour arranged of this museum that takes us through the early history of American automobiles. That seems especially appropriate in this 100th year of Route 66.Be sure to sign up soon. The event calendar is filling up so add those events to your calendar and get out and drive!
This month we welcome new IJC member Dave Johnson from Wheaton.Be sure to get to know them at an event soon.
I'm anxiously awaiting some sunny weather to exercise the grey jags and say hello to all of you at an upcoming event.Make 26 the year you get out and celebrate Jaguar life with your fellow club members.
