Kids are back in school and Halloween costumes are in the stores.I guess that means summer is winding down but there is plenty of driving season left.Actually some of the best driving weather of the year is just a few weeks away.So get those cats our to play!
The update from the Grey Cats Garage this month is brief.The 140 went to LeClaire for the Quad Cities British Auto Fest where we met several IJC members on the banks of the Mississippi at a very nice show.It is a nice setting in an interesting town with a very active British auto club.It's an easy drive down I88 for most of you so put it on your calendar for next year.Oh, the 140 did take home Best of Show.
I also brought the 140 to the Car Club portion of the Geneva Concours on August 24.We had 9 Jaguars attend including 2 potential new members.The weather was perfect, crowds were enthusiastic, and the cars shown were amazing.
Upcoming Events
In September join the Fuelfed folks and other British Cars for the Whitworth Rally on the 6th and then the British Car Union show on the 7th.
The next club event will be our drive to the WW2 reenactment on the 27th of September.I attended the WW2 event several years ago and it is fascinating with all of the authentic uniforms, equipment, and battles.In October we will have our Fall Drive "A Journey Through Architectural History, Small Cars, and Autumn Splendor".The hotel block is closing soon!Check them out on the event calendar.
Dave Hauman is going to the IJF in Georgia on Sept. 26 and would like to know if any other IJC members are participating.If you are please let me know and I'll pass it on to Dave.
