Wow!What a fast month! This is the July update by the skin of my teeth. It's been a busy Jaguar month for me starting with attending the Mad Dogs and Englishmen British Car Show and Rally at the Gilmore Museum, then driving over the top of Lake Michigan and down to Road America to judge the Friday race car and Saturday sports car concours, and ending with our wonderful Concours event at St. James Park.No wonder July went zoom.If you weren't at the IJC Concours last weekend be sure to check out the pictures on the website and the video on our Facebook page. You missed a super event.
This month we welcome new members John Millichap from Deerfield with his 64 E type and Glynn and Donna Amburgey from St. Charles with their very red 08 XK.Best of all they are already participating in events.
We have events every month so there is plenty of opportunities to join the other members and come out and drive. In August we will participate in the car club portion of the Geneva Concours. In September we have the British Car Union show and our drive to the WW2 reenactment.I attended the WW2 event several years ago and it is fascinating with all of the authentic uniforms, equipment, and battles. In October we will have our Fall Drive "A Journey Through Architectural History, Small Cars, and Autumn Splendor".Check them out on the event calendar.
The flurry of contacts from folks looking to sell their Jaguars continues. If you are interested in a Red 1990 XJS, a Black 1985 XJ6, a Topaz 2003 XJ8, a BRG 06 XK8 Victory Edition, or a blue 98 XJL check out the For Sale on the website or just give me a call.
I am leaving tomorrow for what looks to be a beautiful weekend at the Quad Cities British Auto Fest in LeClaire, IA.Hope some of you are joining me or maybe heading to Wisconsin for the WJL Concours.
I hope to see all of you at an event this year,
Ken
