June 25 Update

June 2025
What a beautiful top down day!I hope you had the chance to get your cat out and enjoy it.It was just as beautiful at the Champagne British Car Show two weeks ago.Jaguar was the featured Mark and there was a very nice turnout of modern Jaguars.Unfortunately the classic Jaguar participation was light.Several of our club members took home trophies although with no competition in the early sedans mine was a bit of a participation trophy.
This month we welcome new member Janice Swanson from Palatine with her 2003 XJ8.Be sure to welcome her at the next event you attend.
Speaking of attending events, there is still time to get on the Yerkes Observatory and Gimmick Rally this Saturday. But hurry!
In July we have one of the most significant events on the club calendar, the IJC Concours at St. James Farm Park.Come and compete or just display your car and enjoy the Jaguars, the picnic, and the atmosphere.
I've had a flurry of contacts from folks looking to sell their Jaguars. If you are interested in a Red 1990 XJS, a Black 1985 XJ6, or a Topaz 2003 XJ8, or maybe you need some parts for a 63 3.8 E type check out the For Sale on the website or just give me a call.
Speaking of out of the blue contacts.I had a lady from Minnesota contact me who has driving an E type on her bucket list. She even said she would compensate the owner for the experience.Any E type owners interested?
I hope to see all of you at an event this year,
Ken

Yerkes observatory
Our next event is a rally to the Yerkes Observatory with lunch at Pier 290 in Lake Geneva. The rally will be a gimmick rally to test your powers of observation and not your ability to hit time, speed, and distance. The observatory has great historical significance and the tour is fascinating.Tickets for the tour sell out quickly and we only have a few IJC secured tickets left so don't delay register now!
The IJC Concours de'Elegance will be held on July 26 at St. James Farm Park in Warrenville with dinner and special concours awards at the Ivy in Wheaton. This not to be missed event will include judged classes for Championship and Driven Jaguars. There will also be a Display class for those who want to show their Jaguars without judging.
The venue is beautiful, picnic lunch is always tasty, and you will get to see Jaguars that seldom come out of hiding.

Champagne British Car Festival, Bloomington, IL

The Champagne British Car Festival was held on the clover lawn of the David Davis Mansion in Bloomington, IL.Jaguar was the featured Mark and the turnout of Jaguars, especially moderns, was significant. It was a beautiful day and with music, mansion tours, historic gardens, and ice cream it was a special event for participants and spectators alike.Several club members received trophies and took home firsts in three of the five classes.
This is an event that needs to be on your calendar for 26.Not only the Sunday show but also the Saturday gimmick rally which always includes great driving roads and collections that are not normally open to the public.
See you there next year.
