As I stated at the Holiday Party, we are taking a different approach to the drive to get more folks interested. The Drive is all in Northern Illinois between Chicago and Rockford. It is set up so you can join us at any stop on Saturday OR on Sunday OR both days and overnight in Rockford and join the group for a great dinner. For that reason the stops are "pay at the door" except dinner which you will pay for when you register for it.  The drive is being called "the little known museum tour ".

Hopefully we will take you to places you never knew existed. Saturday is the Elgin Historical Museum, learn about Elgin Watch Company, Borden Milk and many other companies you never knew were in Elgin, then on to the Aurora Regional Fire, housed in the original Fire station with equipment from all over the region. Next Lunch at an Irish Pub in Aurora, and on to Ellwood House in Sycamore, home of the inventor of Barbed Wire, the invention that changed the west. Then to Roberts Armory, a private military collection with several tanks and other vehicles. I understand they will have a Higgins Boat ( the landing craft used in D Day ) out in their lake that day. We over night in Rockford and Dine at Abreo Resturant. Sunday is a tour of the Japanese Gardens in Rockford, lunch at the same location. Then to Midway Village, dozens of historical buildings completely furnished and the museums display of the Womens Baseball league of World War 2. We wrap up with a visit to a Winery in Genoa then we all head home.

Please join us for all or at least part of the weekend. If you have never done a drive with the club, here is an easy weekend to get your feet wet. Most legs of the drive are 30 miles or less....easy local driving.
